You Can’t Be a Lone Ranger

Mark 1:12-20

1. If any man could have done life alone, without the help of others, it was Jesus. Why do you think the first thing He does is to build a team?

2. If Biblical manhood is a team sport, how biblical is your manhood? Which would you say you’re closer to: “lone ranger” manhood or Biblical manhood?

3. Unlike most rabbis, Jesus goes to his disciples (students/apprentices) and chooses them. What significance and meaning should that have on your life?

4. What encouragement do you get knowing that when Jesus was building his team his first “first round picks” were all blue-collar fishermen?

5. Do you think Jesus just wanted these 4 guys to be “fishers of men” or are modern day disciples also called to be “fishers of men”?

6. What would being a “fisher of men” look like in your life?

7. What lessons can we learn about being a man of God fro the phrase “immediately they left their nets”?
