Repentance
Luke 15:17
When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!’
2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
God’s Love
Luke 15:20
So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.”
Psalm 103:13
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
Forgiveness
Luke 15: 22-24
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
Psalm 86:5
“You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.”
The Oldest Son
Luke 15:28
The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So, his father went out and pleaded with him.
1 Peter 2:21
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
God’s Heart
Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
He is also counting on us to be on the look out for the lost and join the celebration when they decide to come home.
Matthew 28: 19:-20:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
As we awaits the second coming of our Lord, let us continue to find our way back home to our father’s love
And help others to return home as well.
