Torn away form – aporphanizó – to be left as an orphan

Acts 2:42
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Fellowship =  koinónia

1 Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Fellowship – Mutual cooperation in the worship of God, the will of God, and the work of God by the children of God.

Why did Jesus Go to the cross?
1. To Glorify God.
2. For the Sake of Others.

WHY BE A PART OF A LOCAL CHURCH?
1.  To Glorify God
2. For the Sake of Others.

Relationships are crucifixions

2. Satan hates and hinders a church that loves each other.

1 Thessalonians 2:18
because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us.

3. Our call is to make the life of Christ evident in the Church of Christ until the return of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 2:19-20
For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? 20 For you are our glory and joy.

Romans 5:2
Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Hebrews 12:2
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Ephesians 5:25-27
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish

2 Corinthians 11:30
If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me
