Introduction question?
What is the greatest evidence that we Belong to Jesus.
- Jesus Loved Through Action
(John 13:31–32)
Jesus demonstrated His love through sacrifice.
He went to a place we could not have gone and did what we could not have done in order to be glorified.
The cross was not just suffering—it was love in action.
- Romans 5:8
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
GCM’s example
- serve difficult communities,
- caring for people others may ignore,
- serving communities with patience and consistency.
- learn new cultures and language,
- “As I Have Loved You” Is the Standard
(John 13:34)
Jesus did not simply say:
“Love people.”He said:
“As I have loved you…”
Christ’s Standard:
- sacrificially,
- patiently,
- personally,
- and unconditionally.
GCM’s Example
- identifying with unreached people groups,
- medical outreaches,
- clinics serving vulnerable communities,
- drilling wells,
- helping needy children,
- supporting struggling families,
- and training leaders.
These are not just projects. They are expressions of Christ’s love.
- Love Is a Witness to the World
(John 13:35)
Jesus said:
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples…”
The world is watching the Church.
People do not always first listen to our preaching, but they will notice how we treat people.
GCMs’ Example:
In many unreached communities in Ghana, people first encounter the love of Christ before they understand the message of Christ.
Sometimes it is:
- a medical outreach,
- a cup of clean water,
- a missionary staying in the community,
- or someone simply showing care and compassion.
- What Does This Mean for Us Today?
Jesus calls all believers—not only leaders of the church or missionaries—to reflect His love.
Some are called to show love in these ways:
Go
Send
Pray
Conclusion
The same love that brought Jesus from heaven to earth is the same love that He expect us to show the world today.
“Can people see the love of Christ through the way we live, serve, and care for others?”
May our love make Jesus known in McDonough and to the ends of the earth.
