Hebrews 2:1-3

Hebrews 2:1-3
Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard,

“How did I even get here?”
“How did it get like this?”

Drift: to be carried away slowly; so slow that you don’t even realize it’s happening.

Hebrews 3:12-14 CSB
Watch out, brothers and sisters, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception. For we have become participants in Christ if we hold firmly until the end the reality that we had at the start.

Downstream = Drift
Upstream = Discipleship

Luke 9:23
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
