Hebrews 12:14
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
He’s not asking to strive for something God hasn’t already given them.
Hebrews 12:15
See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;
Hebrews 12:16-17
(see to it) that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal. 17 For you know that afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, though he sought it with tears.
Holy “To-Do” List
-Look to Jesus
-Throw of Weight & Sin
-Run with perseverance
-Lift up Hand & strengthen weak knees
-Make straight paths for your feet
-Strive for peace and holiness
Holy “Don’t” List
– Fail to obtain Grace of God
– Let a root of bitterness rise up
– Be Sexually immoral
– Be unholy
Hebrews 12:15
See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God;
The sustaining grace of God enables and empowers us to accomplish the “to-dos” (vs 1-14) and abstain from the “don’ts” (vs 15-17)

Why do people get bitter –
1.They get something they don’t want.
2. They don’t get something they do want.
If you can’t extend forgiveness, you may not really have forgiveness.
Forgiveness is never a feeling. It is an act of the will. If you’re waiting to forgive somebody until you feel like it, you never will.
