Hebrews 12:13

Hebrews 12:13
…make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed

The purpose of the path

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Matthew 7:13-14
Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

The path to justification has been paved so you can walk the path of sanctification.

Straight = orthos

You don’t have to get straight with Jesus before you go straight to Jesus

The pain of the path

John 16:33
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Isaiah 53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Choose your pain…
1.The pain of discipline.
2.The pain of regret.

Hebrews 12:13
…make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast.

The prize of the path

1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Hebrews 12:13
…make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed

John 20:19-21
On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

His scars prove that He is not ashamed of what He went through for you.
