Condemnation vs Conviction
1.Lust Blinds Your Judgement
Judges 14:1–3
Samson went down to Timnah, and at Timnah he saw one of the daughters of the Philistines. 2 Then he came up and told his father and mother, “I saw one of the daughters of the Philistines at Timnah. Now get her for me as my wife.” 3 But his father and mother said to him, “Is there not a woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you must go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she is right in my eyes.”
Left unchecked , lust finds 2 friends – entitlement and pride.
2. LUST binds our STRENGTH.
Samson played with temptation instead of fleeing from it.
John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Like Samson we trade power for pleasure.
It promised pleasure and excitement and then delivers pain and enslavement.
3. LUST GRINDS AWAY OUR PURPOSE
Judges 16:21-22
So the Philistines captured him and gouged out his eyes. They took him to Gaza, where he was bound with bronze chains and forced to grind grain in the prison.22 But before long, his hair began to grow back.
