Wisdom House || You Should Have Seen It Coming
Proverbs 27:12 The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
Prudent – Arum (ah-room) – crafty, wise, sensible. Having commendable foresight.
Simple – pthiy (peth-ee) – open, impressionable, unformed in judgement. Morally untuned, rather than mentally deficient.
“Trouble is remarkably good at finding me!”
1. What keeps us from doing something about the danger we see?
DENIAL & DELUSION
I am susceptible to denial and delusion, because acknowledging that something is an issue would require that I take responsibility for responding the wise way.
(If I don’t admit that it’s a problem, I don’t have to solve it.)
Until you’re willing to accept responsibility for how you respond, everything wrong with your life will be someone else’s fault.
We don’t miss warning signs because they are invisible, we miss them because they areinconvenient.

They lack 3 things – Discernment , Humility, Courage
Discernment – “I see the danger”
Humility – “I can’t handle the danger”
Courage – “I’m going to do something about the danger”
2. Why are the simple suffering ? They “go on” .
1.Where in life are you just “going on” ?
2. If absolutely nothing changes about the way you are currently handling that area, where does this road lead?
3. What does “Hiding himself” actually look like?
Prudence ≠ paranoia
Wisdom ≠ worry
Proverbs 27:12 The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.

Proverbs 27:12——————————————–The Cross
Proverbs 27:12 – teaches us to avoid needless suffering caused by foolishness .
The Cross – Teaches us to embrace necessary suffering caused by faithfulness.
At the cross prudence didn’t lead to self-preservation, it led to humiliation.
Wisdom doesn’t mean avoiding all suffering. Wisdom means knowing which suffering should be avoided and which suffering requires obedience.
There is suffering produced by foolishness and there is suffering produced by faithfulness.
