Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Go make disciples = our ultimate purpose
Romans 7:15 “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do. But what I hate, I do.”
Most of us have good godly desires. That’s not the problem.
We have a discipline problem.
Nobody accidentally becomes like Jesus.
1 Timothy 4:7 “Train yourself for godliness.”
You cannot be a disciple without discipline.
We are dust, dependent upon the breath of God.
Dirt could not turn itself into Adam, and you cannot turn yourself into Jesus.
Sanctification isn’t a spectator sport.
He works the dirt while we trust God for the growth.
Information alone does not produce transformation.
You are not responsible for producing the growth.
Your job is to work the dirt. Trust God for the growth.
