Fail Club || Judas
– 1. Expectation —where we say – ‘Jesus should…’
– “Here’s the key: expectations aren’t sinful. –
But when our expectations become unexamined assumptions, they set us up for disappointment.
– 2. Disagreement — in our heads we’re saying – ‘That’s not how this should work…’
– But disagreement with Jesus becomes dangerous when it stops being a question,, and becomes a judgment.
– 3. Disillusionment — ‘Jesus didn’t…’
– 4. Silence — ‘I won’t say anything…’ ——Here’s where the story gets dangerous.
– “Proverbs 18:1 ‘Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire.’
– 5. Resentment — ‘I deserved better…’
– 6. Justification — we say… ‘This makes sense…’
– 7. Betrayal — say ‘it’s over.’ Now Judas crosses the line.
– Expectation → Disagreement → Disillusionment → Silence → Resentment → Justification → Betrayal
– Disillusionment- is the process by which a person’s hope, trust, or faith in something or someone—especially God or a relationship—erodes when reality does not match expectations, and the person fails to bring that disappointment humbly and honestly to God or to others.
– Betrayal- is the deliberate turning away from trust and loyalty toward someone who has been faithful, usually by violating a relationship through deception, abandonment, or disloyal action—often motivated by self-interest, pride, or fear.
