Gut Check || Leading in Lonely Places
“If you want to win when everyone’s watching, you’ve got to work when no one’s watching.”
God breaks and makes leaders in the lonely places.
Luke 5:16
But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Full schedules don’t lead to full lives.
Loneliness vs Solitude
Loneliness is inner emptiness. Solitude is inner fulfillment.
Jesus inaugurated his ministry by spending 40 days alone in the desert
(Matt.4:1-11)
Before he chose the 12, he’s been an entire night in the desert Hills
(Luke 6:12)
He would drew to the lonely place after he learned of John the Baptist death
(Matt 14:13)
After feeding the 5000 he went up into the hills by himself.
(Matt 14:23)
Following a long light of healing, he went out to a lonely place.
(Mark 1:35)
He beckoned the 12 apostles to lonely places with him.
(Mark 6:31)
Following the healing of a leper, he went through to the wilderness and prayed
(Luke 5:16)
A lonely mountain top was the stage of his transfiguration
(Matt.17:1-9)

Then everyone deserted him and fled.

Jesus went through death alone so you would never have to go through life alone
