City Nights
What are City Nights? These nights are nights where we are calling all Christians in our city to come together and pray that the strongholds of sin in our city would be broken and that there would be an awakening among those who are hopelessly lost and comfortably found.
Why? The local church here in McDonough is in desperate need of an awakening. It’s time for the Church that’s been lulled into becoming formal, cold, and careless, to regain its urgency, fire, and zeal.
The Focus For Tonight: “ALIVE TOGETHER”
Key Verse for the Night:
Ephesians 2:4-5 “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.”
Tonight, we will be focusing our prayers on unity in Christ. We are going to pray specifically through four dividing issues we face as a city. Christ died so that we might be unified, both to the Father God and to our fellow man. Jesus’ goal has always been unity for His Church.

1. Socio-Economic Unity
James 2:1-4 “My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others? For example, suppose someone comes into your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry, and another comes in who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes. If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, ‘You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor’—well, doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?”
Prayer Prompt – God, take our eyes off of what our brothers and sisters have in life and focus them on what they have in Christ.

2. Political Unity
Titus 3:1-2 “Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good. They must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.”
Prayer Prompt- Jesus, you were not a Republican or a Democrat. You are King. Let your kingdom come through us.
–
3. Generational Unity
1 Timothy 5:1-2 “Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.”
Prayer Prompt- Jesus, through Your blood, we are family. The older for the younger, the younger for the older.

4. Racial Unity
Ephesians 4:2-6 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
Prayer prompt- God, you are one. Though we are many,
make us one.
