Tapestry

Matthew 18:19-20 states, “Again I say unto you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name there I am among them.”

Tapestry is a gathering place exclusively for women to worship, hear the word of God, and foster their faith. Women will discover how their lives work together as they connect in the community allowing God to weave and create a beautiful Tapestry that displays His handiwork in their lives.

A tapestry is an intricate, complex combination of things or sequence of events. A tapestry is also defined as a thick woven textile piece of fabric that displays a unique picture or design. The design is formed by weaving colored weft threads or by embroidering on canvas. Weaving is the action of forming a fabric by interlocking these threads. Our unique lives as women are the fabric by which God displays this beautiful story on canvas. Our individual lives represent the warp [lengthwise] and woof [crosswise] threads creating the weft in an intricately woven fabric.

Our testimonies, life events, and experiences as women collectively represent a tapestry. It represents the significance of relationships as we share in the lives of one another. Jesus on the cross signified the sacrifice that was made as God pursued and built a relationship with each of us. When we stand as women and stretch our arms laterally, reaching for one another, we represent the love of Christ, as one body, His body, the body of Christ.
